Daniel Rothstein, MD, MBA is an Interventional Pain Medicine Specialist who is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He completed his Surgical Internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City followed by residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Rochester. Dr. Rothstein then completed a Pain Medicine Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, one of the most prestigious pain fellowship programs in the country. During his fellowship he received extensive training in diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of pain syndromes, with additional focus on cancer related pain and palliative care.
Dr. Rothstein’s scope of practice includes a broad spectrum of painful conditions such as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, persistent post-back surgery pain, neuropathy, headache, complex regional pain syndrome, pelvic pain, and musculoskeletal pain. His special interest is in the field of cancer pain. In addition to comprehensive medical and rehabilitative therapies, Dr. Rothstein specializes in minimally invasive techniques such as epidural injections, joint injections, kyphoplasy, spinal cord stimulation, spinal pain pumps, sympathetic blocks, neurolysis, and a variety of nerve blocks. Dr. Rothstein also performs regenerative treatments such as platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell procedures.
Dr. Rothstein is active in clinical research in the field of pain medicine, having published in peer-reviewed journals and lectured at national conferences. He is involved in teaching medical students and residents, as well as mentoring younger students on careers in healthcare. He is a member of leading professional societies including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
